Employers' Attitudes Changing
"On the positive side, we're seeing a shift in thinking among local employers as they realize they must pay competitively and offer additional perks to attract and retain qualified workers. These perks include things like on-site fitness facilities, profit sharing and encouraging employee input to internal procedures and job site improvement. Without the advantage of a low cost of living that used to attract people to the Okanagan along with quality of life, we have to provide other incentives."
